BOY GEORGE Ivan Brandt DUGGIE FIELDS Giulio Paolini BRUCE McLEAN ZG #1

£225.00

Default Title

Super collectable launch issue of eclectic British concept art and culture magazine ZG, with British actor and screen legend Ivan Brandt from the classic film The Man Who Work Miracles on the cover.

This rare first issue includes a typically kaleidoscopic mix of interviews, articles, and photography featuring the work of artist Duggie Fields (3 page interview), Scottish sculptor and performance artist Bruce McLean, Italian arte povera acolyte Giulio Paolini, plus a gorgeous double page "centrefold" 'Still Life With Guernica" feature showcasing the work of New York photographer Mac Adams. Peter Challis also interviews avant-garde musician Morgan Fisher about his move to musical collage.

If that wasn't enough, ZG editor Rosetta Brooks writes about the goings on at the infamous Blitz Club, featuring a picture and quote from the Blitz Kids including a 17 year old Boy George. Swoon!

Founded in 1980 by Rosetta Brooks, ZG is a kaleidoscopic mix of high and lowbrow culture with each issue a heady mix of art, theory, radical politics, sexuality, visual culture, science and literature with contributions from writers, artists and photographers in London and New York.

Staplebound and folded; large format.

Good condition with some crease marks on cover and throughout. Magazine has been folded and has a noticeable central fold line as well as some staining on the cover (see images).
