CINDY SHERMAN Malcolm McLaren KIM GORDON Mishima ZG magazine No.7 1983
The 'Desire' issue of the brilliant British concept art and culture magazine ZG with Cindy Sherman's 'Auto Portrait' on the cover.
This really is an incredible issue of a cult counter culture publication stuffed with great writing from the UK and across the pond - including articles, interviews and features on French theorist Georges Bataille, cult Japanese novelist Yukio Mishima, artist David Salle, Malcolm McLaren (interview including images of Anabella of Bow Wow Wow and McLaren etc), Jo Baer, Bruce Robbins and others.
Contributors in this issue include Ken Hollings, Mark Holborn, Geralyn Donohue, Jane Wandja and Sonic Youth star Kim Gordon in one of her earliest published essays. Yes please!
Founded in 1980 by Rosetta Brooks, ZG is a kaleidoscopic mix of high and lowbrow culture with each issue a heady mix of art, theory, radical politics, sexuality, visual culture, science and literature with contributions from writers, artists and photographers in London and New York.
Good condition with some crease and fold marks to the cover and throughout. Two small tears to the top of the cover which have been covered with tape.
