This is an exceptionally rare and special issue of Queen Magazine.
QUEEN in Africa
Fantastic cover image of German model and actress Veruschka von Lehndorff, who was extremely successful during the 1960's. Veruschka and Jill Kennington are shot for a 26 page (!) story by American photographer Peter Beard (then Peter Hill Beard, renowned for his incredible African imagery) in Kenya for "African Hot-Pot" fashion editorial.
Marc Bolan; early photograph and interview, aged just 18. Approx half a page feature, talks about living in Paris, recruiting the right people for his record...
Diana Rigg models in a full page page advert.
HOLLAND extensive feature with colour photographs by Max Maxwell.
And we LOVE the feature on brutalist architecture from Switzerland in a feature by John Vaughan 4 pages.
Adverts -
Pringle, Varela, Elnett, Eterna Matic, Winkler,Chanel, Rayne shoes...all full page and in colour.
Skiwear for him and her advertisement for the fashion brand 'Simpson Piccadilly' illustrated by artist Eric Stemp, 1 full page.
And the final pages has a rare Jean Shrimpton ad for Acrilan
Highly sought after copy of this now cult magazine.
Good condition - There is wear throughout on the bottom of the pages of this super rare copy - several pages have scuffs from light water damage - the cover however is excellent with light wear to the "n" of 'in Africa'. Iconic issue. The final photo shows the back of the front cover, the mark on the cover is more obvious at the back from water. So very hard to find, even in this condition. Priced according to rarity and condition.
