Features -
Fashion photography by Albert Watson, Terence Donovan and John Stember.
Film critic Milton Shulman (father of Alexandra), gives credit to Steven Spielberg: "Whenever a film joins that select group at the top of the list of the biggest grosser of all time, it is not only film makers who try to assess and analyse the nature of its appeal. It also becomes a matter of conjecture and speculation for sociologists, psychologists and social historians. Gone With The Wind, The Godfather, The Sound of Music, Star Wars, Jaws, The Exorcist have all been analysed in terms of their successful catering to the individual's basic appetite for epic mythology, supernatural horror, childhood reveries, futuristic fantasy, realistic violence and sentimental escapism. No director in the history of the cinema has managed so often to hit the topmost gong of box-office achievement - Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark and now ET - as Spielberg."

Feature by British designer Jean Muir who writes an article entitled 'Quality', with examples of her fashion illustration and photograph of the designer.
Margot Smyly, ex-model who played fashion guru-to-the-over-thirties, Mrs Exeter, for Vogue until the early Sixties, returns to give her take on fashion. "The Fifties were lovely - looking back to the style of the Thirties in order to recover from the war years. There was a marvellous elegance and everybody tried to make the best of themselves." She liked the Sixties less: "It was a terrible time, a nasty, catty, horrible decade with a lot of ill feeling. And anyway I hated mini-skirts!" At this point, Concorde zoomed by on its afternoon New York flight. "Now that's Eighties style," she says.
