A beautiful cover page (only) from an American edition of Vogue magazine.

Dated Mar '40 - a rare pre-WWII issue.

The cover is a drawing by the fashion illustrator RUTH GRAFSTROM, one of the few female illustrators working for Vogue in the 1940s.  Depicting a woman wearing matching GLOVES, PILLBOX HAT, JACKET, SHIRT and SKIRT in YELLOW and PURPLE.

The reverse is a full page advert for 'Photographic Evidence' of the chic patterns inside, along with some inset photos of the Vogue Couturier designs to make and sew, including AFTERNOON, DINNER, DAY and EVENING, DRESS and JACKET in BLACK, RED and TAUPE SILK CREPE and JERSEY, a HAREM HEM and varying long length dresses.

To confirm, this the cover page only, not the entire issue.  Would look wonderful framed as a poster.

Very good condition. The cover has some light creasing and an old stamp and price.  The photograph shows the actual cutting that you will receive. Very scarce indeed. Will be shipped flat in a sturdy cardboard envelope.
