This issue celebrates the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth.  

The cover stained glass is a photograph by Norman Parkinson.

The Coronation issue is dedicated entirely to Queen Elizabeth II.

Cecil Beaton is given exclusive access to Buckingham Palace to interview the Queen Mother and Princesses Elizabeth and Anne while new and old photographs, by Beaton, are featured of the Royal Family through the years.

The Maids of Honour to Her Majesty during her coronation will be wearing dresses by Normal Hartnell, Vogue announces.

Meanwhile Lancôme has designed Magie Cresor Perfume in honour of the occasion and the Connaught Hotel has created a special dish in honour of it.

A historical profile on previous Queens, and the ceremony of the Coronation. A photo portfolio of attendees, from pageboys to the Lord Chamberlain, writers, designers, artists etc who were involved in the Coronation Day, including Cecil Day Lewis, Hugh Casson, Barbara Jones, Ladies of the Bedchamber, King of Arms etc... 10 pages shot by Beaton, 4 by Norman Parkinson.

Cecil Beaton contributes an essay on photographing royalty. 6 pages of royal photos and writing by Beaton.

A photo story showing the future Queen Elizabeth II as she grew up.

A fashion editorial modeled by beautiful young English women, mainly aristocracy, along with some actresses, by John Deakin and Anthony Denny. Models include Fiona Campbell-Walter.

Fashion between the Coronations: Pre-War 1937-1939, War 1940-1945 and Post-War 1946-1952 Day and Evening looks are examined and compared over 6 pages, including a section on hats through the 3 decades.

Rowland Emett illustrates a 2page 'Coronation Fever', "specially drawn for Vogue by permission of Punch".

Siriol Hugh Jones writes about 'Coronation Bright Lights' - Diana Wynyard, Noel Coward, Joan Sims and others who are photographed by Beaton and Parkinson. Also for this feature Marcel Vertes draws Viviane Blaine and some of the guys from Guys and Dolls.

Edward Ardizzone animates a Coronation street scene, 2 pages.

Norman Parkinson photographs dancers Rowena Jackson and Mary Drage of the Sadler's Wells Ballet, who model 'Young Idea Sea/Shore Clothes' featured in a 2 page spread also illustrated by Audrey Lewis. Parkinson also photographs 2 other fashion features; a 5 pages in b/w and 4 in colour including Mrs Astor, Leighton & Shaughnessy.

Adverts - Glorious advertising, largely for foundation garments and stockings, including Berlei, Lori Nelson for Max Factor, Horrockses dresses, Julian Rose, Yardley, Clarks, Cow & Gate, Cussons, Martini, Caron, Wedgwood, Burberry, Helena Rubenstein, Elizabeth Arden, Lancome, Fenwicks, Kangol and Rochas. 

This issue is rich in royal detail.

Very good condition with marking to cover and edge and light paper loss to spine by 1cm to top and bottom of spine.  Contents excellent.  The photograph shows the actual magazine you will receive.  Very scarce issue.
