Very rare post-World War II British Vogue from October 1945.
The war is over and this is the 'Peace and reconstruction Issue'.
The cover is a striking, minimalist, clear blue sky. No more warplanes, bombs or aerial raids.
With the war in Europe and the Far East finally having come to an end in September, Vogue has no suitable cover commissioned for this issue. James de Holden-Stone, the magazine's art director, makes his point aptly with a painting of a clear sunny sky - denoting the end of the blitz in London.

During World War II British Vogue was kept in print as a part of the war effort. One of its influences was to encourage people to recycle and contribute paper to the war effort. They sent their archives to be pulped and had features on taking part in the war effort. As a result any British Vogue pre 1945 are some of the rarest magazines on the planet.
Shipping includes insurance & online tracking. We are also happy to combine post.
The condition is mint for a magazine of this vintage, almost pristine, we suspect it was stored and not read.
