This is a very rare 5 page feature on the late POP artist Pauline Boty, photographed by John Aston.

The portraits appear in a vintage issue of a men's magazine from the sixties, and Pauline's paintings can be seen in a few images in the background.

We love the portrait with the pearls in front of her painting of Marilyn Monroe with pearls. The story goes that Pauline's Monroe painting was inspired by her seeing a photo of Marilyn on the cover of the British men's fashion magazine Town.  Town had just printed the very last photos taken of Monroe, as it turned out - the photos were taken by George Barris and Monroe died not long after the magazine went to print.  Many believe Bert Stern captured the last images of Monroe, but in fact is was Barris' beach shoot with MM that were the very last photos taken of her.

This photo of 'Marilyn with pearls' is historically important as the original artwork has been lost.  The work was only documented in this series of images!

Boty was a hugely talented Pop artist and a contemporary of Peter Blake & David Hockney.  She starred in the BBC documentary 'Pop Goes the Easel' - currently available to view on BBC iPlayer.

Her life was cut tragically short when she chose to have her baby and forego cancer treatment.  As a consequence features on her are very, very rare.

6 great portraits of Pauline.

You will receive the full magazine, which is also a super time capsule from the 60's.

The article is called 'Pauline goes Pop'.

20 x 13 cm

The condition is excellent.  The edge of the cover is a little frayed but the PB and other articles inside are pristine. The cover is larger than the inside pages hence the light wear and tear.
