During World War II British Vogue was kept in print as a part of the war effort. One of its influences was to encourage people to recycle and contribute paper to the war effort. They sent their archives to be pulped and had features on taking part in the war effort.
As a result any British Vogue around this time are some of the rarest magazines on the planet.
