This is the controversial Muhammad Ali cover that led to him being stripped of his heavyweight title and banned from fighting.
The image depicts Ali as Saint Sebastian who was martyred after converting to Christianity. Tied to a stake and shot at with 6 arrows, he survived, went out into the street and helped a blind girl regain her sight by converting her to Christianity. The idea for this shot came about after Ali refused to join the US Army’s fight in the Vietnam War because of his recent conversion to Islam.
