This is an extremely rare poster photographed by Don McCullin (photo credit bottom left of poster). A scarce promotional item coincided with the launch of Martin Amis' new novel, London Fields.
This book was published in 1989 and we assume the poster was launched the same year - also looking at the posters that Amis is leaning against are dated approx April/May 89. The portrait of Amis looks like it was shot in East London/Shoreditch/Hackney or indeed even in London Fields.
We sourced this poster in Australia, so are not sure if this poster was published to advertise the book launch by Jonathan Cape in Australia or worldwide.
We've never seen it before and you will never find again!
Would look wonderful framed. Rare and unique collectible one-off wall display promotional poster. Not a reprint - genuine original.
The ruler in the photos is for scale.
Good condition. No tears or pinholes but signs of use; residue of blue tack (on reverse only), wear to fold lines, and a couple of tiny wear holes along one of the creases and at the very centre point - however these are barely visible. Comes folded as published. Unfolds to approximately 4 times the size of a standard A4 magazine.
