The cover is Lord Byron, modelling a hat of his own design.  The cover became quite famous - Creative Review featured it and Getty Images were annoyed as the image was used without permission!

This issue has contributions from Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, The Libertine's Peter / Pete Doherty , Salena Godden, and an great piece by Alice White about an old woman who fell off the edge of the earth. ⁠⠀
