RENE GRUAU L'Officiel LANVIN Balenciaga PIERRE MOURGUE Dec 1951
Rare L'Officiel magazine with stunning illustrated cover by legendary Italian-French haute couture fashion illustrator Rene Gruau.
Known as 'the bible of high fashion', L'Officiel was first published in 1921, the same year as Vogue, and within a short time helped to launch the careers of Balmain, Balenciaga, Dior, St Laurent and other notable designers.
This issue contains additional internal illustrations by Rene Gruau and Pierre Mourgue, as well as editorials featuring designs by Dior, Lanvin, Maison Schiaparelli, Pierre Cardin, Jacques Fath, Marcel Rochas, and others. Also contains A5 L'Officiel gift book insert.
A really special issue of the original French fashion magazine.
