This is a rare issue of Petticoat magazine from the sixties. Cult fashion magazine that was produced during the height of the mod, psych and hippie era of British culture. Aimed at teens and young women, with fashion, music, great ads and short stories.
Excellent condition - the cover is missing a small piece bottom right and the 1st page of the shirtdress feature has a couple of small 1cm tears to leading edge and creasing, otherwise the magazine is great, see photographs!
The cover girls were photographed with funky wrap-around "sun-peeper" sunglasses (the high-bridge Futuristic Narrow Cyclops Visor Sunglasses eyeglasses style having a current revival) shot by John Dixon.
Rare photo of JULIE ANDREWS with PAUL NEWMAN.
My Kind of Book - by Terence Donovan. One page interview with the photographer.
Mick Jagger of Rolling Stones - full page colour photo by Derek Berwin, plus one page interview.
Fashion feature on shirt-dresses including designs by Mary Quant Ginger Group (fashion shoot on old London Great Eastern trains) in What happened to Fred's Shirt fashion editorial by Tony Norris. Designs include madras cotton by labels such as Mary Quant, PAUL STEPHENS, POLLY PECK, SHUBETTE, Wallis and LIDA ASCHER etc
Twiggy models a dress to sew in the Dead Broke Department, one full page photo with a page of instructions. Shot by Barry Lategan.
Hair styles feature and shapes to create with hair wire. BOWs, pigtails and plaits etc, 2 pages.
Small photos of Australian actress JUDITH ARTHY and Brit band LOVIN' SPOONFUL.
KATHY'S CROWD two page feature
