Let's hear it for Jill Kennington! One of the unsung heroes of the 1960's, Jill was quietly appearing everywhere in 1960's fashion working with the very best photographers in fashion spreads and advertising campaigns and such are the vagaries of history we hear so little about her these days. As you can imagine we were thrilled to read her recent autobiography written in collaboration with Philippe Garner. We highly recommend it as a personal story with fascinating insights of the great times she had in fashion as well as the very challenging experiences she had to endure and come through. We will always love Jill and back in 1965, so did Elle France, Jeanloup Sieff, Peter Knapp & Faouli Elia - who all photographed her in this one issue.
Nicole de Lamarge leads the way for France in the opening spread by Brian Duffy and that's not all for Britain in a FRENCH Tri-Colour themed issue, Pattie Boyd pops up too also photographed by Duffy (PB can be seen looking down in one of our images).
Feel the Euro love in '65!
Peter Knapp photographed the cover and no doubt designed this issue and it bears all his signature graphic design elements of being both modern and classic. Just perfect.
