Rare issue of the British edition of Vogue magazine. One of the most sought-after magazines; dated July 1951.
COVER The model is the beautiful Jean Patchett, wearing a Mexican 'rebozo', worn in the style of an Arab's burnouse, to protect from foreign sun or local breezes, photographed by Claude Coffin.
This is an iconic cover. Coffin did both the styling and make-up (as well as the photography) which was unusual. He was famously known as a perfectionist and of course this is a most elegant image, and created from just a few factors. Jean was a favourite of Irving Penn.
