There is a stunning hardbacked catalogue book in a slipcase for the one-off auction of an exceptional collection of Horst photographs from the collection of Gert Elfering in 2007.
A unique edition produced and presented by Christies in New York for the auction on 23rd April 2007.
The introduction is written by Philippe Garner who tells a little of the story of Elfering and how he met Horst, began collecting his work and ultimately purchased the entire catalogue.
Littered with descriptions and quotes from Vreeland, Leiberman etc
It contains many classic images by Horst including the iconic 'Mainboucher Corset' image that he shot in Paris in 1939 before fleeing the Nazi occupation.
There is a lovely portrait of Irving Penn and Lisa Fonssagrives
