This is a French edition of Elle. This issue features very early fashion by Givenchy, as his first collection was released just a couple of months before this issue. It's rare to find magazines that feature Givenchy within the first year so this is extra special.
2 page fashion shoot accompanies the cover; Bettina with various puppets and wearing Jacques Griffe, Hubert de Givenchy, Schiaparelli and Maggy Rouff.
Models pose with Alexander Calder mobiles for a 4 page fashion shoot. We think one of the models is Bettina, and they wear gowns by Balenciaga, Givenchy, Jacques Fath & Hein and are shot by Chevalier. There's an inset feature on the sculptor Calder, with photo.
A further 2 page fashion spread shot by Chevelier, with models wearing skirt suits by Jean Patou, Fath, etc.
Jean Cocteau & Stravinksy feature, with party photographs, including a woman wearing a huge 'Edipus' mask.

Excellent condition, please inspect the photo - the photograph shows actual magazine you will receive. The magazine was originally folded for postal delivery in 1950's France, so it has a feint fold throughtout, otherwise all pages tight to staples and minimal wear.
