This is an extremely rare early Vogue Beauty Book, issue number 10 from 1953.
Classic Erwin Blumenfeld colour work inside. Blumenfeld worked a lot with Vogue Beauty and created his most distinctive work for this magazine. This issue contains some of his iconic colour work in a beautiful article on corsets.
Rare John Deakin beauty work - he photographs difficult hair in a series of lovely head shots.
There is also some wonderful beauty photography by Henry Clarke and Anthony Denney.
The cover is by Colhoun; diamond earrings and braclet, powder-puff and perfectly manicured hands.
These magazines are beautifully printed with different papers used within at times, there is a matt paper in a different colour used within.
The ads in these beauty books from this period are wonderful illustrated beautiful pages. The fashion illustration is exceptional.
