DUTCH magazine 4Africa from 2002
A very special issue of DUTCH, for Africa.
Produced in support of a charity auction organised by the ICRC in 2002.
Michel Comte and Sandor Lubbe curated and published this 344 page magazine especially for the occasion for the Red Cross.
The issue includes interviews with Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, features from Alek Wek and Vanessa Beecroft, as well as photography by Peter Beard and Malick Sidibé.
A beautiful celebration of African culture, as well as the harsh reality of daily life in some areas of Africa.
A benefit show and after party auction was organised in Los Angeles, headlined by Lauren Hill and David Blaine, to mark the launch of the publication.
4AFRICA didn't shy away from weighty topics, tackling socio-economic themes with due depth, empathy and self-awareness, while the photography matched in quiet candor.
