DONYALE LUNA'S very first ever magazine cover!!

According to the brand new HBO documentary, DONYALE LUNA: Super Model produced by Luna's family, she arrived in New York aged 16 in the Autumn 1964 - and was the model for this beautiful illustrated cover by January 1965!

This is of course the American edition of Harper's Bazaar magazine, dated Jan 1965.

Cover Model DONYALE LUNA was illustrated by Katharina Denzinger and there are a further 6 pages of this story inside, with Luna drawn by the great fashion illustrator.

It's a fantastic mid-1960's classic issue of US Harpers Bazaar, full of other great fashion images...

Jean Shrimpton appears in a rare ad campaign for fashion made using DuPont photographed by Richard Avedon, 6 pages.

Avedon shoots more than 20 pages over three stories in this issue.

Bazaar goes on location to Spain and the fashion is also photographed by Avedon.

Hiro shoots 5 pages of swimwear in the studio.

The New Young photographed by Bob Richardson.

The Naked Genius

This is a historically important issue of Harper's as it is the first time that a black model appeared on the cover of any fashion magazine.  Super scarce museum quality magazine, for serious collectors.

Excellent condition with just light wear. See detailed photographs of the actual magazine that you will receive; we don't use stock images.
