A feature on photographer Don McCullin in a very rare UK supplement.
This is a rare issue of The Independent Magazine, a supplement to The Independent newspaper. Only ever on sale for one day in the United Kingdom.
The cover is an early Don McCullin documentary image; 'Young Men in an Italian cafe, Finsbury Park, London 1958'. Don is know for his war photography in the late 1960's and early 1970's. This is an 8 page feature written around the time of his retrospective, by somebody who appears to have interviewed Don a few times. Several full bleed, full page images, including some of Don's conflict photographs that we've not seen printed in any other magazine. One especially haunting image of a Turkish woman discovering the bodies of her young husband and his brother, killed by Greeks.
