US Harper's Bazaar March 1968 COLLECTIONS ISSUE, a very rare and desirable vintage magazine + ART.

This is the sought-after issue that contains an original and true work of art by Dan Graham -

'Figurative', 1965. Dan Graham Till Receipt.

This issue contains the original advertisement paid for by Dan.  Dale McConathy ran this ad only in this issue of Harper's.  Consisting of a cash register till receipt, this was a subversive commercial artwork planted in a fashion magazine.

Dale McConathy was the poetry editor at the magazine and decided to publish the piece as a poem. However, this is merely an image of a bill at the grocery store.  It was published as a 'found object'.  The name and title added to it, is because it appeared as a poem.

The place it was given, between an advertisement for Tampax and an ad for a lingerie bra brand, is purely coincidental, but over the years it helped ensure its iconic status.
