Vintage issue of the British PICTURE POST magazine. Rare post-war issue from April 1947.
Austerity Britain is in 'crisis' and Picture Post takes a look:
"Where Stands Britain?"
Legendary photographer Bill Brandt has at least one classic image inside credited - a coal miner wheeling his bicycle up a hill (see photo).
We love the Victory image at the bottom of Regent Street on page 9 credited to K Hutton. A woman comes is welcoming a soldier.
There is a great heroic portrait of Gilbert Thompson who is a sailer. (uncredited)
Not all of the incredible photography inside is credited.
The cover is Stonehenge in the snow (uncredited).
There is a lot of discussion and analysis of the crisis in Britain as the newspaper is challenging the government.
Excellent condition. There is a sliver missing from the bottom right of the cover, there is also a pencil number top right perhaps the price and light rusting to staples which is common with magazines of this age. See photographs.

This is an exceptionally rare issue published in 1947 as Britain was in the grip of rationing and recovery from WWII, its fascinating news magazine and a snapshot of the times.
