This is a difficult to come by 1930's pre-WWII  issue of UK Vogue, dated June 14th 1939. Just before the onset of WWII the issue celebrates Summer Fashions and Travel.

The cover is by the great fashion illustrator Benito and depicts a poignant 'white handkerchief greeting the New York skyline as thousands will do this summer'.

It's full of gorgeous and fascinating 1930's fashion and is a real time capsule.

Very rare in its own right as pre WWII Vogues were soon to be widely recycled as a part of the war effort.

Switzerland & Norway are featured

There is a Conde Naste illustrated portrait of HRH The Duchess of Kent.

Stunning HENRI ROUSSEAU picture, full page colour plate.

Michele Morgan, CORINNE LUCHAIRE and DANIELLE DARRIEUX are photographed for a two page feature on new acting talent.

Gilbert and Sullivan's New York production of 'The Hot Mikado' is featured, including a  full page colour photograph, in Spotlight, banned in the UK 'because of copyright'.

Fashion editorial containing the rather iconic image of a model holding a pig. see our pics.
