This is the rare and sought after issue of the British counter-culture magazine Oz, dated May 1968.  

COVER -   A pure black and white cover with two women in a bath tub, one black and one white, possibly to re enforce the black and white cover. The inside pages are very colourful, a superb piece of design, see description below.

CONTENTS -

This is a fantastic example showing the some of the best printing methods, format and content of vintage underground press zines.  This issue consists of one big folded sheet that makes a poster of sorts on both sides. The photographs show the entire magazine unfolded on both sides. The inside is colourful with a lot of orange in contrast to the pure black and white cover.

The orange and purple side is a poster created by Barney Bubbles and David Wills, entitled 'Desire can be destroyed'.

There is a brilliant two page black and white illustration quoting Martha and the Vandella's song lyric"
'Summers here and the time is right for dancing in the street'  - see cropped in photo added.

It is one sheet folded into 16 pages on each side, 32 in total.

Good  condition - Overall it is in superb condition for a poster of this age that was folded into one magazine. There is one small hole at the very centre where the corner of the magazine has worn through as it has been folded into halves and half again (as published).  The small hole can be seen in the close up photographs.  ALL the photographs are of the actual copy so please inspect carefully. Wear to edges as per normal for paper of this age, and the outside cover has some slight tanning - all should be visible in the photographs.
