A very rare and beautiful issue of the United States edition of Vogue.  Dated 1st March 1968.

This is prime 1960's American Vogue, edited by Diana Vreeland and designed by Alexander Liberman.  The fashion spreads are bold and fantasy driven, just as Vreeland always demanded, and the non-fashion features are amazing.

A great Irving Penn cover 'most-romantic-girl-in-the-world'.

People are talking about features Barbra Streisand with a gorgeous, classic portrait by Richard Avedon.

Full of fashion, its a collections issue including the '50 most becoming dresses in America' in 1968. 16 pages of dresses by Bert Stern.

Penati shoots some amazing looks with rich colour and dynamic models he has 14 pages including 8 pages of lingerie.

3 pages of Catherine Deneuve by David Bailey in a 10 page Paris Pret-a-Porter shoot by Bailey.

Penelope Tree and Marisa Mell model in The Accessories Game shot by Stern - see pic.

6 pages of Italian Boutique fashion by Henry Clarke.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Princess Ira Furstenberg, Alexis Waldeck, Countess Carl-Alexander Von Bismarck, Mlle Beatrice Dautresme, Mme Richard De Surmont and MRS PATRICK GUINNESS.

24 x 31 cm  600g

Condition - Good.  The magazine has been repaired by the previous owner with tape on the spine and back repairing a worn spine. - Not a bad job, see the final photo of the back cover.  There's some feint water staining to the cover thankfully only runs to the page underneath. One corner stain from the page following to the first 3 pages, these are all advert pages only.  Please inspect the photographs as they are from the actual copy. Further on there's one other stain, this one at the bottom of most pages, diminishing in size.  See the second uncropped image of the dresses by Bert Stern as an example, you can see the water damage is there but not overpowering. Still a very scarce and sought after issue, remarkable that this paper antiquity has survived more than 50 years really.

This original America edition of Vogue also comes from a smoke-free environment. All of our magazines are professionally stored; inside acid-free archival and anti-UV plastic sleeves to prevent discoloration.

Our C19Virus Plan - July 2020

We are still trading. We are still posting sales.  The post office has advised, as an essential service, that it will remain open. There are also extra cargo planes to keep up with demand, and couriers such as FedEx and DHL have increased capacity.

We have lots of packaging in stock, we started self isolating in early March and we have a new, very stringent cleaning routine in place.

We have thousands of magazines close to us in our archive and office and we also have many more in boxes in storage. Any stock we retrieve is being handled with gloves.  All of our stock is already sealed, as all our vintage magazines are stored in individual archive sleeves, in acid-free boxes, and in climate-controlled art storage.

The world has changed and it will continue to change in profound ways that we cannot fully imagine.  We have no other income and we really appreciate any sales we make that at this time. As we start this long path of isolation and spend more time cut off we are, in a small way, a little excited about the idea of being able to provide reading material and rare magazines for people all over the world. With love from all of of us at this very difficult time. Stay safe. xxx
