This is a rare issue of the American edition of Harper's Bazaar dated March 1948

We took great delight seeing this issue in the recent superb Cristóbal Balenciaga docu-drama TV series starring Alberto San Juan as the Spanish designer.

The unusual cover view of a shoe from street level is by Richard Avedon who also photographs an editorial inside.

Illustrator Marcel Vertes is profiled in the Editor's Guestbook for his two humourous pages inside.

Photographers Evelyn Hofer, Avedon & Lousie Dahl-Wolfe also feature.

Great layout on shoes - heels and toes

Charles Addams is photographed for a rare feature about the illustrator and his wife!

These days Ireland's President resides in a magnificent mansion in Phoenix Park, Dublin and that building is featured in this issue.

Editor Carmel Snow features prominently in the TV series as a friend of Cristobal.

Diana Vreeland was the fashion editor and Alexey Brodovitch the art director.

Good condition.  Light wear to cover more obvious on the edges and spine, as visible in the photographs. Super and sought after classic vintage magazine. One to treasure.
