This is an extremely rare 1948 edition of British Vogue. Dated August 1948 - scarce post war issue.
The cover model is Anna Lee Danels. It is an exceptional issue features The Venice Biennale photographed by Lee Miller and featuring Henry Moore and Peggy Guggenheim.
The 1948 British Summer Olympics were hosted by England and there is a fantastic 6 page fashion shoot photographed by Hans Wild. It is very stylised and of its time and all the more interesting because of this. Pole vaulting, fencing and the magnificent Wembley Stadium are featured.

Lee Miller photographs the Venice Biennale with some charming candid photographs of Peggy Guggenheim and Henry Moore amongst others. Moore is shown having coffee at the famous Florian's cafe on St Marks square in Venice in fantastic double page spread full of photographs.
