This is an extremely rare 1948 edition of British Vogue. Dated August 1948 - scarce post war issue.
The cover model is Anna Lee Danels. It is an exceptional issue features The Venice Biennale photographed by Lee Miller and featuring Henry Moore and Peggy Guggenheim.
This issue is stuffed with some of the great British photographers...
Cecil Beaton has a 6 page editorial of most flower arrangements (which he has created) and models poised next to them.
The great Norman Parkinson has some very rare (for the time) colour images featured that we have never seen before. You can see some of the beautiful evening dresses shot in grand country homes in the photos attached.
Lee Miller photographs the Venice Biennale with some charming candid photographs of Peggy Guggenheim and Henry Moore amongst others. Moore is shown having coffee at the famous Florian's cafe on St Marks square in Venice in fantastic double page spread full of photographs.
There are also several pages of beautiful fashion illustration including work by John Ward illustrating some unusual Bridal designs.
There is a lovely two page feature on Shoes with illustrations by Buckmaster with rare photographs by the legendary cult London photographer John Deakin.
Excellent condition. Cover is bright and clean. The photograph shows the actual magazine that you will receive.
Post includes insurance & online tracking. Mailed with a Flyweight board in an archive sleeve. We are happy to combine orders.
