Andy Warhol shoes fabric fashion illustration HARPERS BAZAAR MAGAZINE
Early fashion illustration work by Andy Warhol (shown in part here).
This is a rare issue of the American edition of Harpers Bazaar.
Features - This issue of Harpers contains two separate features illustrated by Warhol:
1. Fabricology, a mixed-media collage of drawings and fabric samples. Two full page plates, in colour, with Andy's signature.
2. Consisting of two different drawings:
(a) The All New depicting an elephant bearing gifts - a very early example of POP ART which Warhol became renowned for. This image also contains a printed signature; and
(b) Bazaar's Treasure Chest of Beauty, a smaller picture in black ink. You will receive the entire magazine, which is complete and immaculate.
3. And somewhat more excitingly, we think we've discovered this uncredited work of Warhol's..! See the first image, the shoes... there is no credit but it looks to be Andy's signature style. He certainly drew a lot of shoes, and it's from the same issue, so we can only assume he was also commissioned to draw these shoes to illustrate a fashion spread on the latest shoe designs from France.
