Jean-Michel Basquiat & Andy Warhol Joint 'untitled' exhibition poster - very rare now and super hard to find.

The two 'heavyweights' of 1980's painting have a joint exhibition of their work together at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery.

Organized by Tony Shafrazi and Bruno Bischofberger, whose names also feature on the poster.

This is for their first show in the mid 1980's, in Manhattan New York and this image is similar to the show's invitation that features a photo of the artists dressed in boxing shorts and gloves, from the Michael Halsband photoshoot.

There will be an exhibition of these important works opening soon in Paris this year (2023).

"Between 1984 and 1985, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) and Andy Warhol (1928-1987) created around 160 paintings together in tandem, “à quatre mains”, including some of the largest works produced during their respective careers.

Keith Haring (1958-1990), who witnessed their friendship and collaboration production, would go on to speak of a “conversation occurring through painting, instead of words,” and of two minds merging to create a “third distinctive and unique mind.”"

Size is 43 cm tall x 27.5 cm wide.

Carefully removed from a 1985 vintage magazine.  This was the only time that this advert was published.  See reverse which shows this is from an original magazine.  Absolutely not a reprint, we only deal in original artefacts.  This has been released from  our archive of 80,000 rare magazines and poster + paper ephemera. 

VG condition with normal light tanning to edges due to age.  Also see back of the poster.
We will post flat or in a tube to maintain condition, which has never been folded so has no creases or folds.

Scarce collector's item - sent insured for all customers, and packaged with sturdy cardboard.
