Donyale Luna appears on the cover of of this issue of Elle published in France, making her the first black model that French Elle put on their cover. History in the making! This was shortly after Donyale became the first Black model on the cover of British Vogue (indeed, the very first time that a black model appeared on ANY edition of Vogue). Pioneering Luna appears alongside another 1960's British supermodel; Jill Kennington, for the cover. A truly rare historically important issue of Elle from Paris.
Please note most of the Donyale and Jill editorial has been removed inside (one page remains of Jill on the beach in colour - see photos) and we are selling on the basis of the rare historically and culturally important cover (worthy of framing), and the much sought-after Audrey Hepburn contents!
