£250.00

Default Title

A super collectable issue of the iconic British women's fashion magazine 'Queen' featuring an incredible shoot with Jill Kennington by John Cowan

...and a beautiful colour shoot by Helmut Newton. 'The Last resort'.

Jill Kennington leaps into the air for every extraordinary image of a 6 page shoot for Photographer John Cowan who chose a brutalist building as a backdrop in sensational images from iconic swinging London, which is apt as Cowans images are in 'Blow Up' and Jill Kennington poses for David Hemmings in Cowans Studio for Antotonioni - None more swinging!

The Building in question is a 'new' Greater London Council Housing development at Battersea.

Duffy shoots Jill Kennington in a styling interiors fashion shoot, Jill wears wigs by Vidal Sassoon and appears within the shoot in frames studio images 6 pages

A rare issue of a very beautiful magazine.

As with all issues of Queen, this issue includes the usual digest of UK and international culture, film, music, theatre and   high society gossip including quirky and irreverent articles on sex and the upper classes

Originally a society magazine in the early 50s, editor Jocelyn Steven bought the magazine in 1958 and shifted the format, content and readership to turn Queen into one of the most iconic publications of its time. Working with Beatrix Miller, Norman Parkinson and later Helmut Newton, Queen became a definitive bible for all things 60s.

Excellent condition with some light wear  as is to be expected with a magazine of this age. See photographs of the actual copy
